I studied conceptual art at the School of Visual Arts in the 1970's.. the idea was to drop the paintbrush and just read philosophy. This meant that I could drop the philosophy and practice any skill I want and call it art, which led me to do work that people wouldn't recognize as art.. tshirts, films, writing, songs, whatever I was inspired to do.
Every great idea on this site was supposed to pay for the
previous great idea, in a long succession. It all represents work that doesn't cost money or make money. Much of it is reproducible content, so there will be a store once the content is printed up as t-shirts, rugs, cd's, books, and of course the fabulous zip wallet..
"Doctor Bockerknick's The Man Who Invented Santa Claus" is a musical about the authorship of the poem "Account of a Visit From St. Nicholas". Clement Clarke Moore and Henry Livingston are the main characters, one wants to be famous and the other doesn't. Music by David Cantor, written for seasonal amateur productions.
"The Founders" is an early history of America, the intertwined lives of the men who started the ball (U.S.A.) rolling, also my mother's family, which is descended from these people. It's not the history you learned in school.
"The Bachelor Kitchen" is a manual for young men on how to set up a kitchen and use it to cook for a date.
"Possession, 9/10th of the Brain" is the earliest work, explaining the relation between instincts and emotions.
Eventually there will be 50 songs on the music page, with lyrics.
Nothing is exactly finished, all is hopefully in flux.
Thanks for visiting!
